Will Social Media be used for any good in Trinidad and Tobago?

Social Media has been around for some time now and has been readily adopted by organizations around the world. In fact the network is so massive that companies that ignore social media as a marketing tool do so at their own peril.

Trinidians (Tobogonians are included as well) are never far behind with technology. Local Facebook usage has been off the charts with many employers unknowingly losing tons of man hours to status updates and farmville purchases. Within recent months, however, there has been a refreshing change in the local social media culture. The recent election campaign was an example of good use of social media. It was quite surprising to see it so readily adopted by the political organisations. More and more local websites have been integrating blogs, content sharing etc.

Hopefully this shift in the paradigm (pronounced para-dime) will continue as more local companies embrace Web 2.0.

  1. Yes indeed it will. Social Media can be used as a Job Search/ Networking tool. One of the best apps is JobDeck.
